DPI is a leading multi-disciplinary land development consulting firm serving the three southern New England states (CT, MA, RI) from our home office in South Windsor, Connecticut. Responsibilities:

  • Hands-on design assisting in the preparation of site design plans using Civil 3D

  • Calculations and report preparation for storm drainage and stormwater management and water quality treatment systems

  • Work toward interfacing with clients, community officials, consultants and presenting site plans to local regulatory boards and commissions

Required Qualifications: 

  • BS or MS degree in Civil Engineering from a program accredited by the Engineering Accreditation Commission of ABET

  • Licensed Professional Engineer

  • Minimum of four years in a supervisory role

  • Minimum of eight years of experience in site design

  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, including ability to advocate for projects before regulators and the public

  • Ability to multi-task with a strong attention to detail

  • Experienced in a wide variety of land uses

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Proficiency with Civil 3D

  • CT, MA and/or RI licensure

Land Surveyor/Project Manager (L.S.)

Design Professionals, Inc. (DPI) is presently looking for a Project Manager for our growing land surveying practice. DPI is a leading multi-disciplinary land development consulting firm serving the three southern New England states from our home office in South Windsor, Connecticut.

We perform all aspects of land surveying, including boundary surveys, topographic surveys, construction stakeout, as-built surveys. and digital surface modeling. DPI has numerous large land surveying projects under contract with multiple private- and public-sector clients in CT, MA, and RI. 

 

Summary of Duties: 

  • Work with Director of Surveying and Senior Project Manager to prepare survey mapping, including boundary and topographic surveys, easements, subdivision plans, etc. 

  • Boundary computations

  • Assist with field crew preparation and scheduling 

  • Import and process field book data from the field crews

  • Create topographic maps utilizing TIN surfaces based on survey data

  • Conduct land record research on subject and surrounding properties 

  • Periodically serve as a crew chief

  • Ensure compliance with company standards and procedures. 

Required Qualifications

  • Licensed Land Surveyor (MA, CT or RI preferred), or LSIT with ability to obtain license within one year.

  • Proficiency in Civil 3D software utilized in a land surveying capacity (2+ years minimum)

  • Strong interpersonal skills and client coordination

  • Complete understanding of field survey methods and procedures

  • Willingness/ability to periodically serve as crew chief, as needed, including working in all weather conditions, walking long distances on potentially difficult terrain, and carrying survey equipment

  • Experienced in preparing digital surface models for GPS equipment or site design experience a plus, but not required

  • Ability to multi-task, detail-oriented, and strong organizational skills

  • Consistency with meeting deadlines

  • Strong written and oral communication skills

  • Maintain regular and punctual attendance
